November 2nd, 2009 10:49 pm A bit of cleaning up [ ] wayya This weekend, I had a great time at my Dad’s! Saturday morning, I went to the mall with my little sister and I bought quite a bunch of manga. I was behind in some series, especially Naruto for some reason, and considering that I only read the French books for this series, I was very behind the Japanese releases. Like, finally reading spoilers I heard months (if not years?) ago. My sister and I spent the whole Saturday afternoon curled together under a blanket in the living room sofa, reading manga and drinking tea. If that’s not heaven then I don’t know what is. On Sunday I stitched (almoooost finished my flower pots oh god I can’t wait) and cooked with the family. It was hard to go back to work today ;_; Though our newest colleague made the mistake of telling us that he hates Christmas, so of course during lunch hour me and another colleague went shopping and bought the earliest Christmas ornaments ever to hang them everywhere in our office. Now that was fun :D Especially since they’re all made of chocolate, so we have enough supplies to last a while without falling asleep in front of our computer… Today is November 2nd and as such it’s my LJ-birthday! I’ve been here for four years now, and I don’t regret it. I’m aware I’m not posting as much as I used to, but I still love reading LJ. I love fandom, and above all, I love you all <3 For the occasion I bulked up my profile a bit and updated my interests and fandom list. I’m also making a new call for testimonies, so if you feel like it, feel free to say something? ( Stats ) 4

October 26th, 2009 10:17 pm Squee post [ ] wayya soraryuu, I got your card today! (pretty fireworks, squeee~ <3) Thank you so much :3 The Hetalia meeting was great, everybody was awesome (and so many people from the French community can draw :O), it was totally worth the rain. Each one of us got a card where the others would draw/write about a defined character or pairing (unsurprisingly, I choose UK XD) We started a report here (my card is in the comments), and the pictures are here. This weekend, I also finished watching the second season of Natsume Yuujinchou. Thanks again for making me discover this series, adela_nightmoon ♥ I don’t think you will mind if I rec your site here? I really loved this anime… but that’s not surprising, considering my tastes XD It’s a perfect mix of Spirited Away (for the folklore and the design of the Youkai) and Mushishi (humans and spirits cohabiting together, the balance between friending and exorcisms, and the peaceful yet bittersweet atmosphere <3). The colors are gorgeous and harmonious (and it is sublimated by the duality of season 1 = summer / season 2 = winter), the music is awesome and varied, sometimes very Mushishi-like, sometimes more funny/weird and light-hearted, and it often contains traditional instruments and original tones. I can share the OSTs, as well as the op/ed, if anyone is interested ^^ The animation is uneven, some action moments are not animated at all (!) but others are quite epic, especially some Yokai attacks. The characters grew on me, especially Natsume (that I totally want to hug fiercely) and Nyanko-sensei/Madara. I’m a big fan of his quirks and attitudes, though I’m a little disappointed that by the end of the series, we still don’t know anything about him… like why he uses a cat body as vessel or why he was sealed in the first ep (sorta kinda spoilers but not really ^^;). Some of the Yokai are extraordinarily cute or scary, and it’s always a pleasure to see them again in the midst of an episode or an opening <3 In a word: my life needs more anime like this one.
